Mar 17, 2010 - The creative instrumental in the middle of this song is so characteristic of their music - and of progressive rock bands in general. Its almost completely gone now. Songs were really complex in the day - these bands were hugely creative. There is still great music being written but structurally it tends to be much simpler.

Yeah, you're right there! My freinds say Deep Purple is shit, but if they see a guy with a guitar, they first ask for Smoke On The Water. But they have so many better songs.
With Supertramp it is the same.
Great Bands!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mar 12, 2010 - I grew up with SuperTramp too, just like you guys, and I constently listen to it, while other people are always saying it's boring and old; while all the songs from today all sound the same. This kind of music (i.e. supertramp, queen, wings, paul McCartney, beatles etc.) made music what it is today.

It is really sad that most of my generation 92 doesnt even know the names supertramp, pink floyd, Led zeppelin or any of the really good bands who where actually the creators of the music we have today.
I completley agree with you !!!!

Thats a good comment from you mate.
I listen to the rock generation of the 70s and 80s. I listen to Genesis, Eric Clapton, Dire Straits etc.
I think they are all superb artists, and because I am 16 people think that I have an other taste.
Todays R&B and Rap influence has done not the best influence in my opinion.
Once again, good comment!

I'm 18 and I grew up with Supertramp. Hell, my first concert was Supertramp at the age of 6 in London's Royal Albert Hall.
The problem with the musical tastes of children today is that their upbringing was totally devoid of exposure to the classics and that my friend, is a major failing of the parents.
I find it very sad that my generation is lost in a music scene full of banality and mediocrity.
All the best.
